Aunt Lynn

I wrote this poem for my Aunt Lynn because she was a loving and strong friend to me. I will miss her every day for the rest of my life.

They don’t know what we know
They don’t know all our highs and lows
They don’t know what’s deep inside
If they did they would run and hide
The strength you have through annd through
Has served you well more than a time or two
You’ve fought life’s battles and won them all
Even when you seemed to stumble and fall
You always got up and let it roll off your back
Somehow you always managed to stay on track
You are such an inspiration to me
Whenever I was upset you would make me see
Just keep putting one foot in front of the other
Always there like a second mother
Your insight and advice have always been sound
Whenever I’ve needed you, you were always around
I wouldn’t give anything for the time we spent together
I just want you to know I’ll love you forever

I’ll love you forever too, Mama. While I surely will miss you, I have no doubt I’ll see you again one day.

    Susan,
You make me so proud. I was there when you read your poem to Aunt Lynn and it brought tears to both our eyes. I will never forget the expression on her face when you read it. You may not know it but you certainly made her day a lot brighter. You are a very special niece and I love you dearly.
    All my love,
    Aunt Carol
