My First Poem

My cousin Jimmy called and said I needed to post my very first poem so this is it. It’s the only poem I’ve written that I have memorized. Crazy, huh? I began writing this in math class because, you guessed it, I hate math. Hope you enjoy! More are on the way!

Sitting there in the corner so frail and small
Just leaning against that same old wall
Her hair is tangled in some places
But her face is as pretty as other faces
Her big blue eyes staring at me
They’re just not the way they used to be
I used to play with her so long
I never noticed the day had gone
Now that I am so much older
And she’s dirty from the smolder
I just leave her there against the wall
My beautiful and favorite doll

This brings back memories of my very last doll that Santa brought me …many many years ago.
